Certificate Requirements
Candidates
Candidates for the certificate must submit a completed application form to Melissa Spence.
Courses
Students accepted into the certificate program must successfully complete courses from the following categories.

- INAF-199: Introduction to Jewish Civilization This course provides a foundation for the study of Jewish civilization and is required of all candidates upon entering the program.
- Senior Essay: Candidates are required to write an essay of 25-30 pages on a topic related to Jewish civilization, prepared under the supervision of a faculty member associated with the Program for Jewish Civilization, the Goldman Visiting Israeli Professor, or if appropriate special permission may be granted by the program director for another Georgetown faculty member to serve as essay advisor.
- The final component in the program is a capstone course: INAF 306 - Tutorial: Jewish Civilization taken during the spring semester concurrently with the senior essay.
